Farm experiences

Agricultural roots run deep in Ontario, with a welcoming farming community ready to share authentic, meaningful and sustainable rural experiences. Slow your pace, appreciate nature and discover where good, wholesome food comes from on a guided, hands-on farm tour

Ontario farms grow more than food; they nurture connection. Treat your kids to a meet-and-greet with the farm animals they’ve only seen in storybooks, climb aboard a wagon ride and explore a corn maze. Chat with beekeepers and horse wranglers, get up close to alpacas, choose the perfect pumpkin or cut your own Christmas tree. Taste the freshness of just-picked fruits and berries and savour golden honey, maple syrup or small-batch ciders crafted on-site.

For a more immersive taste of rural life, set out on a scenic horseback trail ride or settle into a cozy farm stay and wake to the rhythm of the countryside.

Find your connection with Ontario’s one-of-a-kind rural escapes and fun-filled farm experiences.

Know before you go

Plan ahead with important tips and information.

Find out what’s in season

In Ontario, farm harvests follow the seasons. Visit Agritourism Ontario to find a farm near you and learn what fruit and vegetables are in season.

Confirm visiting details

Working farms are busy, so opening hours and operating seasons may change on short notice. Also, not all farms welcome pets. Double-check hours, farm rules and directions in advance.

What to wear

From pick-your-own fields to horseback rides, most farm activities will require comfortable, closed-toe shoes and clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.

Stay safe

To avoid accidents, do not climb on equipment and thoroughly wash your hands with soap and water or use hand sanitizer after touching animals and before handling food.

Bring cash

Some farms may not be equipped with credit or debit card payment options. Bring cash for potential admission fees or purchases.
