You’ll also be able to find unique gifts, products and apparel made from the alpaca’s thick coat of fleece. Considered a luxury fibre, it’s softer than cashmere, warmer than most wool and hypoallergenic.
Note: Some farms may require bookings in advance. Don’t miss out! Check online to book your visit before spots fill up. There may be an age limit for the alpaca walks at some of these properties. Most farms suggest wearing comfortable, close-toed walking shoes.

Kickin' Back Alpaca Ranch
Interact with the alpacas in the girls’ barn, home to the baby alpacas (crias) and their mothers. There are lots of opportunities for cuddle time, photos and feedings as part of the experience. Choose from different alpaca tours, including the VIP tour for those who love everything about alpacas. Note: the girls’ barn is wheelchair accessible.

Haute Goat
Known for ‘goat shmurgles’, one of Northumberland’s favourite farms offers all sorts of fun ways to interact with its adorable animals. Enjoy a peaceful sunset hike with an alpaca while admiring the tranquil countryside. Alpacas have a calming presence, and the alpaca yoga classes will get you into a zen mood. If you want to spend more time with the alpacas, stay overnight for a sleepover in a private space with a large comfortable bed located in an alpaca enclosure.

Windmill Point Alpaca Farm

Located in the Kawartha Lakes, Salem Alpacas provides alpaca tours for families and groups, in addition to a variety of educational programs and seminars about alpacas. There are various alpaca products in the store, including popular hand-made duvets.

Island Spirits
From cows, rabbits, pigs, goats and chickens that lay fresh eggs daily, there are plenty of farm animals on Grasshopper Island, the off-grid island on Rice Lake. It’s no surprise to see alpacas casually roaming and grazing around the island. These friendly alpacas are known to enjoy carrots, so bring a few carrots on your hikes on the island. Getting to the eco-friendly island is just as exciting. It’s an opportunity to disconnect from technology and hop on Captain TJ’s ferry to the serene and quaint island, then check into an eco-cabin on the island and enjoy nature.

Old Mill Alpacas
Located close to the Big Apple in Northumberland, you’ll find more than 80 alpacas on this picturesque farm. Their annual alpaca shearing event is a not-to-be-missed attraction. There’s a mill on the property, where you can learn about the farm’s milling process. Stop by the store to peruse the alpaca yarn. The store also sells other alpaca products and accessories, including the popular miniature felted alpacas.

Wanderlight Alpaca Experience
Private and guided walks through trails and forests in Lakefield are available for small groups and families, including young children. Tours are offered year-round, weather dependent.

Twin Pines Alpacas Farm & Fibre Mill
Tour the alpaca farm from May to October to see the friendly Huacaya Alpacas. Browse the shop for gifts and many luxurious alpaca yarns and products made from the mill on the farm. Keep an eye out for fibre art workshops available at the farm's Studio 65.

Nestled in Ottawa’s Greenbelt within the city limits, Maple Hill is a unique urban farm that offers informative and fun guided alpaca tours for small groups of up to four.

Alpaca farm visits are available by appointment. Rain or shine, you will meet the friendly alpacas and take peaceful walks with them through the trails around the farm. Don't forget to bring your camera because there will be lots of opportunities to take pictures.

Dream Acres Alpacas
Located near Timmins, Dream Acres invites you to get to know the alpacas on the farm before you take them out for a walk. If you’re looking for accessories that are water repellent as well as warm and smooth on the skin, there are lots of hand-woven handicrafts made with alpaca fibre sold in the store.

Meadowview Alpaca Farm
Book a family tour to meet the friendly alpacas at Meadowview Farm and shop the far store for treasured alpaca products. Tours take place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., and note the farm is closed on Saturdays and Wednesdays.

Rosborough’s Funny Farm
Home to a menagerie of residents with larger-than-life personalities including mini horses, goats, donkeys, sheep, rabbits, pigs, an emu and of course, alpacas. The entrance fee is $10 per guest. Animal visits are at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. daily. Kids will enjoy the playground on the property. Bookings for birthday parties can also be arranged.

Although not a petting farm, there are plenty of alpacas to see on the farm as they graze the pastures. Specializing in the production of alpaca yarn, the SHED store is the place to visit for an assortment of alpaca products that have been exclusively designed and created. Overnight stays are available at the farm cottage.

Visit this Prince Edward County alpaca farm to connect with the alpacas during walks and feedings. The Bloomin’ Welly Little Trekk is a popular experience where you’ll be introduced to the alpacas and farm, take an alpaca for a walk through the fields and meet some of the youngsters.
