Experience the joy of pick-your-own strawberries at Tigchelaar Berry Farms.

From mid-June through August, visitors can enjoy harvesting fresh, sun-ripened strawberries directly from the farm's expansive fields. The farm provides a variety of container sizes to suit all needs, and guests are welcome to bring their own baskets from previous years or purchase one on-site.

After a day in the fields, head to The Red Barn Farm Market, just a short distance away. This charming market offers a selection of local produce, baked goods, and of course, Tigchelaar’s signature strawberries.

This fourth-generation family farm is a cherished destination for cherry lovers, offering both sweet and sour varieties at their peak in July, depending on the weather. Visitors eager for that signature tart flavour are encouraged to arrive at the beginning of the sour cherry season to get the best pick. If you prefer sweeter cherries, you’ll find plenty to savour throughout the month, as they ripen alongside the sour varieties.

Beyond the orchards, the farm market is a showcase of local goods, offering freshly harvested produce, pure honey, sweet and sour cherry preserves and all-natural juices.

Cherry Avenue Farms, Vineland Station

Prepare the fruit salad bowl because Cherry Avenue Farms offers a quintessential PYO experience from July through August. Visitors can harvest a variety of sun-ripened fruits directly from the orchard, including specialty cherries, apricots, peaches and yellow, blue and redheart plums. The farm's expansive orchards are designed for easy access, with low-hanging branches and provided baskets, making it a family-friendly destination.

Located in the heart of the Niagara Peninsula, Cherry Avenue Farms provides a tractor ride to the orchards, enhancing the rural experience. Guests can enjoy shaded picnic areas, clean washroom facilities and parking.

Marcy's Berries, Puslinch

Marcy’s Berries, located just over half an hour from Hamilton, offers a splendid PYO experience from June through August.

Enjoy harvesting a variety of fruits, including strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, currants and gooseberries. The farm has been cultivating these fruits since the early 1990s, providing a perfect environment for fruit and farm lovers.

Sun Valley Farms, Winona

Pick yourself a basket of delicious cherries this summer. Sun Valley Farms offers a delightful U-pick cherry experience starting in early July. The season is short, however, lasting only three to four weeks. 

Close to the Greater Toronto Area, this is a favourite spot for families and fruit enthusiasts. The cherry orchard’s cherry trees are grown on full-dwarf rootstock, making the fruit easy to reach and perfect for pickers of all ages.

Choose from three basket sizes: 3-litre, 4-litre, and 6-quart baskets, which the farm supplies and each group is required to purchase one to enter the orchard.

Jerry’s Berries Raspberry Farm, Copetown

Indulge in fresh raspberries and golden honey at Jerry’s Berries, a beloved family farm offering U-pick raspberries from June through August.

Willowtree Farm is a cherished family-run destination that has been welcoming visitors since 1969. From July through early August, the farm offers an exceptional pick-your-own strawberries experience, allowing guests to handpick plump, sun-ripened berries directly from the field.

Willowtree Farm is more than just a place to find good berries. Before leaving the farm, check out the on-site butcher shop offering a selection of handmade gourmet burgers, sausages and specialty cuts locally raised and butchered in-house.

Enjoy freshly baked goods at the café, explore the vibrant farmers' market featuring seasonal produce and artisanal products, and meet with friendly farm animals at the interactive petting zoo. Little ones can frolic in the expansive playground, a perfect spot to burn off energy.

At Rose Family Farm, a cherished family-run destination, hand-pick ripe, sun-kissed strawberries directly from the field, enjoying the fresh air and scenic surroundings. Start by purchasing a basket at the farm.

The farm also features many attractions for all ages beyond the fields. Head over to the chip truck for local favourites like farm-fresh fries and mouthwatering poutine, all made from potatoes grown on-site.

Visit the farm shop to buy fruits, meat pies, local honey, freezer meats and more. Before your trip consider pre-ordering the farm’s famous pavlovas. They sell out every week and are available in up to seven different flavours.

Linton’s Farm Market, Oshawa

Linton’s Farm Market is open for a vibrant pick-your-own strawberry experience.

Before or after you’ve picked your fresh, handpicked strawberries, bring the little ones over to the kids’ play area for a variety of exhilarating activities, including corn bowling, a giant sand pit, a tricycle track, a net maze, rubber duck races, a tunnel swing, a giant slide and more.

Check out the on-site farmers’ market, which features local Ontario products such as cheese, honey, maple syrup and an abundance of fresh vegetables and fruit.

Downey’s Farm, Caledon

Just a short drive from Toronto, experience the joys of summer at Downey’s Farm in Caledon. From mid-June through August, immerse yourself in the farm-fresh delights of U-pick strawberries and raspberries. No reservations are required. Simply arrive and enjoy the experience. Baskets are provided.

Beyond berry picking, Downey’s offers over 30 attractions for all ages. Embark on scenic tractor and wagon rides, explore the Discovery Barn or get active on the jumping pillows and low ropes course. Perfect for animal lovers, the adorable petting zoo features goats, alpacas and more. For thrill-seekers, there's a zipline course and an intricate corn maze adventure to navigate. Younger visitors can enjoy the playground and pirate-themed play areas.

The on-site farm store also offers fresh produce, baked goods, unique local items and treats.

Reesor’s Market and Bakery, Markham

Just outside Toronto, Reesor’s Farm Market has been a cherished destination since 1985, offering farm-fresh produce and homemade delights.

From mid-June to early July, savour the taste of summer and join in on Reesor’s PYO strawberries. Admission to the strawberry fields is through online pre-paid reservations.

If you’re stopping by Reesor’s for the PYO experience, it’s worthwhile to visit the expansive farm market. From mid-July to early October, indulge in Reesor’s famous sweet corn, picked fresh daily. The corn is available in bi-colour (yellow and white) varieties, including the sweet and tender Navajo, and the crunchy Gourmet Sweet types, such as Awesome and Anthem.

Enjoy a selection of made-from-scratch pies, including favourites like apple, blueberry and the popular molasses crinkle cookies. The bakery also offers breads, muffins, butter tarts, preserves, honey, maple syrup, bison burgers and hearty frozen entrees.

Brooks Farms, Mount Albert

Uncover the vibrant U-pick experience at Brooks Farms, a charming 10-acre family farm in Mount Albert, about a 20-minute drive from Uxbridge. From June to August, visitors can handpick a variety of fresh, ripe fruits including juicy strawberries, sweet Saskatoon berries, tangy red and black currants, tart gooseberries, and luscious red raspberries.

After you’ve filled your baskets, explore the array of fun-filled activities Brooks Farms has to offer. Relax on scenic wagon rides through the picturesque farm fields, set sail on the playground’s whimsical pirate ships and bounce around on giant jumping pillows. Kids will love the entertaining singing chicken show and the chance to meet friendly farm animals.

On hot summer days, cool off at the splash pad or enjoy bouncing ponies, tire horse swings and slides. Take a leisurely country stroll around the farm, relax in shaded picnic areas and sink your teeth into tasty treats at the farm’s market featuring seasonal produce, gourmet donuts and more.

Barrie Hill Farms, Springwater

Pick the trifecta of berries on lush fields at Barrie Hill Farms, a cherished family-owned farm in Springwater.

From June through August, the farm fields are open for the U-pick experience where visitors can fill baskets with blueberries, strawberries and raspberries. As the season progresses, indulge in the rich flavours of blueberries and raspberries, both of which are available for picking starting in July.

No reservations are needed, and once you’ve got your admission, enjoy a scenic wagon ride to the fields. Don’t forget to bring your own basket, since the farm charges by weight. Alternatively, baskets are available for purchase on-site and can be reused for future visits.

Barrie Hill Farms also offers a plethora of attractions for all ages. Visit the Farmers’ Market to check out a variety of local vendors offering fresh produce, baked goods and artisanal products. Satisfy your cravings at the Silo Café, where you can enjoy delicious treats, frozen yogurt, paninis, hot dogs and more. Take a leisurely wagon ride, relax in the picnic area and learn about local pollinators at the apiary.

Kawarthas and Northumberland

McLean & Buckhorn Berry Farms, Lakeview

McLean & Buckhorn Berry Farms was established as simply McLean Berry Farm in 1991. The farm expanded 19 years later with the addition of a nearby 187-acre property, known as Buckhorn. Together, the two became McLean & Buckhorn Berry Farms.

The gates of the two farms open in June 2025 to a charming PYO experience, where visitors can handpick fresh, juicy strawberries, vibrant red raspberries and the unique and delicious royal (purple) raspberries. Explore the array of family-friendly activities. Navigate the fun straw bale maze or challenge yourself in the exciting corn mazes. Revel in the peace and quiet of Rideau Pines Farm, a family-owned gem just 25 minutes south of downtown Ottawa. From June through August, the farm welcomes you to pick your own produce. Start your summer with sweet strawberries, available mid-June. As the season progresses, the farm offers more U-pick options, like raspberries, haskaps and currants, ready for picking in July.

Rideau Pines Farm also offers a serene countryside experience. The fields are situated away from roads and highways and shady trees line the property, offering cool spots to relax and enjoy the surroundings.

The on-site market is a must-visit, featuring in-season fruits and vegetables, as well as local specialties such as maple syrup, honey, hot sauces and more.

Avonmore Berry Farm, Avonmore

Harvest juicy, red strawberries to lighten up the dinner table with Avonmore Berry Farm’s U-pick experience starting mid-June.

The 20-acre strawberry patch is renowned for producing some of the best-tasting strawberries in the region, earning it recognition as one of Canada's top 10 strawberry-picking destinations.

Children can explore the play areas, which include sandboxes, slides and swings. For a treat after a day in the fields, the on-site pantry offers a selection of snacks, drinks, strawberry shortcake, homemade jams, baked goods and refreshing ice cream cones.

Haliburton Highlands to the Ottawa Valley

Hugli's Blueberry Ranch, Pembroke

Since 1978, the Hugli family has grown nutritious and delicious high-bush blueberries. Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch, a family-friendly farm located just 50 minutes from Ottawa, shares the joy of blueberry season with a PYO experience from mid-July to early September.

The farm offers accessible picking areas, making it easy for everyone to enjoy fresh, locally grown blueberries. No reservations are required, and guests are welcome to bring their own containers or purchase baskets on-site.

With family in mind, Hugli’s Blueberry Ranch offers a wealth of family activities. The Summer Play Park features exciting attractions, including a Blueberry Hill Tunnel Slide, a pirate ship maze, a pedal cart track, jumping tire swings and a whimsical Fairy Tale Trail. And meet a variety of friendly farm animals, including llamas, miniature horses, goats, peacocks, sheep, chickens and rabbits.

After a day of picking and playing, visit the country market to enjoy refreshing treats such as ice cream, frozen yogurt, smoothies and baked goods. The covered patio overlooking the blueberry fields and the Laurentian Mountains offers a relaxing place to unwind and savour farm-fresh snacks.

Ruby Berry Farm, Chelmsford

Pick some large, ruby strawberries at this delicious U-pick experience.

From late June through August, tap into the splendour of harvesting sweet, juicy strawberries from expansive fields. The strawberries are grown on matted rows, carefully tended until the opening of the picking season, which typically begins in late June and lasts for three to four weeks.

The farm recommends calling the berry hotline (705-855-9901) for daily updates about picking hours and crop information.

Sault St. Marie and Algoma

Algoma Highlands Wild Blueberry Farm and Winery, Wawa

Taste the rich flavours of Northern Ontario at Algoma Highlands Wild Blueberry Farm, a 259-hectare family-owned farm located just three kilometres from downtown Wawa.

Starting in July, the farm offers a splendid PYO strawberries experience. Its unique location, consisting of sand from ancient Lake Superior beachfront, creates an ideal environment for wild blueberry cultivation. Visitors can explore the scenic surroundings and observe the diverse wildlife that inhabits the area, including moose, bears, wolves, cranes and eagles.

The gift shop offers a selection of natural, preservative-free products, including jams, syrups, barbecue sauces and wines made from the farm's own wild blueberries.
