Breweries, cideries and distilleries

Home to the birthplace of Canadian whisky, Ontario has a rich tradition of crafting exceptional, toast-worthy alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, with breweries, cideries and distilleries producing everything from elevated small-batch beer and cider to premium spirits.

Ontario’s thriving craft breweries satisfy every palate, from hop-forward favourites to innovative seasonal releases. Raise a glass at renowned beer festivals, including Ontario’s iconic Oktoberfest. At local distilleries, savour expertly crafted whiskies, rums, vodkas and gins.

In Southern Ontario, a unique microclimate nurtures more than 15 apple varieties, perfect for crafting exceptional cider. Ontario’s cideries transform fresh apples and other fruits into creative ciders ranging from crisp and clear to cloudy and tart. Follow the Ontario Craft Cider Trail to discover new favourites.

Go behind the scenes on guided or self-guided tours and trails to learn about the brewing and distilling process and enjoy tastings along the way.
