We’ve got few suggestions how to elevate family game night in Ontario.

The opportunities for family fun in Ontario are endless, so take a break from your at-home game night, gather your group and embark on the possibilities of exploring different and exciting attractions.

Clifton Hill’s ‘Street of Fun’

Known as the ‘Street of Fun’ for its plethora of themed attractions, wax museums, haunted houses, game arcades and restaurants, Clifton Hill is an entertainment district a block away from the iconic Niagara Falls. Clifton Hill delivers action-packed entertainment for all ages.

Niagara Speedway

Families with a competitive spirit and older kids in tow can settle scores and engage in a fun, family-friendly rivalry at the Niagara Speedway. It is one of the largest elevated, coaster-style go-karts racetracks in North America and you’ll feel the rush of adrenaline as you navigate the twists and turns of more than 600 metres of racing track. Once you’ve achieved your need for speed, take the family to the Game Zone where you’ll enjoy classic arcade games that may just stir up another friendly match or two.

Zombie Attack

Located next to the Niagara SkyWheel, one of Canada’s largest observation wheels offering panoramic views of the Falls, Zombie Attack is the largest XD Dark Ride in North America. This immersive attraction transports everyone to an apocalyptic world overrun by zombies. This interactive, multi-sensory experience will challenge you and your family to save mankind as you show off your impressive laser targeting skills and earn high scores.

Dinosaur Adventure Golf

Schedule tee time for the family at one of Canada’s largest miniature golf courses, where kids and adults will enjoy a healthy dose of competition in a unique setting. This golf attraction features two prehistoric themed 18-hole courses. Try not to get distracted by the life-sized dinosaurs that tower over you as you play. The Jurassic ambience is further enriched by a 15 metre high, steam-erupting volcano that invites golfers to play through a cavernous opening on the way to the 18th hole.

Kids Ultimate Play Centre (KUPP)

Sudbury's indoor adventure playground features soft play equipment for toddlers. Plus, parents can climb and slide alongside their children. The facility also offers laser tag for older children and adults.

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum

Since 1963, the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Museum continues to captivate visitors of all ages with hundreds of eccentric, bizarre and, well, unbelievable displays of artefacts from around the world. There’s also an interactive experience and fascinating film showcasing daredevils who bravely challenged Niagara Falls, from tightrope walkers to adrenaline junkies who dared to go over the Falls in a barrel.

Funhaven Bowling Ottawa And Gaming Arcade

Play carnival games, laser tag, ride the spinning roller coaster, or take the drivers wheel at the bumper cars at Ottawa’s only indoor amusement park is a short drive from Parliament Hill. After you work up an appetite, check out the Funhaven Restaurant. There are plenty of sharable platter items on the menu ranging from vegetarian options to quesadilla.

Enjoy a competitive game of bowling at family-owned Fleetway, with 44 lanes that offer 5-pin and 10-pin bowling. There’s also glow-in-the-dark mini golf, a play centre for small kids and an expanded arcade area. Dining options include Dairy Queen and Pizza Projekt.

Canada’s Wonderland

Boasting more than 200 attractions from scream-inducing roller coasters to thrilling water slides, live entertainment and themed areas – the name says it all! Canada’s Wonderland is the nation’s largest theme park located in the city of Vaughan. Spanning more than 130 hectares, there’s a lot of ground to explore and lots of opportunities to lose track of time and create lasting memories. Younger kids will enjoy KidZville and Planet Snoopy, which feature 25 rides and attractions, including a high-flying adventure on Beagle Brigade Airfield and a unique treehouse experience for little adventure seekers at the Maple Park Treehouse.

LEGOLAND Discovery Centre

Build great memories at the LEGOLAND Discovery Centre, Canada’s only LEGO playground, located in the Vaughan Mills Mall. It is a great destination for indoor family entertainment, built with millions of LEGO bricks, and featuring 10 LEGO build and play zones, two LEGO-themed rides and a 4D cinema with LEGO-inspired movies on rotation throughout the day.

Hone your LEGO-building skills by learning tips and tricks from master builders who will take you through the building blocks of working with LEGO bricks. While it’s easy to let your imagination run wild, be sure to rest and refuel at the LEGO Coffee Shop with tasty treats.

Urban Air Adventure Park

Open all year round, Urban Air Adventure Park allows you to climb ropes, scale walls, practice warrior ninja techniques and compete in agility challenges. You can showcase your aerial prowess on the trampoline or use the trampoline to master your ultimate basketball slam dunk techniques. You also can’t leave the venue without playing a game of dodgeball.

Fun activities available at Ottawa’s Ultimate Family Adventure Park range from water gun fights to laser combat. Test your agility on a 5.5 km obstacle course. Smaller, kid friendly obstacle courses are great for the little ninjas. You can also hire an instructor to show you how to maneuver obstacle course like a pro.

Kingston Axe Throwing

Axe throwing has become an increasingly popular hobby in recent years, and more daring families with older kids can safely try their hand at this extra take on classic darts. Not to worry if you’ve never held an axe before, staff provide short 15-20 minute coaching sessions to get everyone up to speed on best practices and safety policies.

Gaslight Theatre

If you enjoy the challenges of escape rooms, try the immersive experience offered at Gaslight Theatre. Groups of three to five can book same-day appointments or make reservations in advance.
