Create the perfect escape with an enchanting dining experience in a forest, on a beach, or at a private cottage or hotel.

Your picnic comes with everything you need and is available for groups large and small. Enjoy a sweet or savoury charcuterie board.

Dietary restrictions such as vegan, halal, gluten-free or dairy-free can be accommodated.

When: Bookings are available year-round. In case of rain, be sure to have an indoor or covered backup plan.

The County Picnic

Soak up the summer sun at Prince Edward County Lavender Farm with a picnic among the lavender fields. This exclusive menu features local products, including homemade lavender lemonade and gelato. Be sure to book quickly, as spots are limited.

If you’re celebrating something special, the VIPicnic Experience can help make those moments memorable. The picnic spread, which uses locally sourced products, includes decorations. Special touches, such as music, gifts, or a photographer, can also be added.

Where: The Lavender Picnic is hosted at Prince Edward County Lavender Farm, 732 Closson Road, Hillier. For the VIPicnic experience, the county picnic can accommodate any location.

Stratford Festival

The Stratford Festival is well known for its major theatrical productions and brings theatre lovers from all over the world to enjoy great entertainment. But it’s not the only attraction. Local parks offer picturesque picnic locations, such as Shakespeare Gardens or Tom Patterson Island. Enjoy a relaxing walk along the Avon River and spend some time admiring the flowers and your surroundings.

Select items from the takeaway picnic menu, including sandwiches, wraps, salads or charcuterie for two.

When: Pre-order picnics at least 48 hours in advance through the Stratford Festival Box Office (1-800-567-1600), or order online at the time of purchasing a performance ticket. Picnic baskets must be picked up within two hours before the show performance and are available from April to October.

Savour & Sip Trail

Berrylicious Picnics in the Patch

Book a blueberry-inspired picnic at Berrylicious Fruit Farm.

Start with a berry picking lesson and tasting then learn all there is to know about this sweet treat.

Get to know blueberries while taking hands-on berry-picking lessons and deepen the experience with one of several picnic options, such as Family Picnic in the Patch for four and a Couples Picnic for two.

Family baskets include sandwiches, drinks, a jelly roll bar and blueberry Jello topped with whipped cream.

Picnic-to-go options are available for those on the go. Enjoy fresh cheese, crackers, berries and veggies to take with you. They can be ordered in advance or picked up while you visit.

For something elegant, try Marian’s Country Tea Picnic, inspired by the classic country experience. Savour the refreshing flavour of the signature blueberry and elderberry summer tea or choose other tea blends that perfectly pair with the delicate finger sandwiches, delicious treats and freshly baked scones.

Udderly Ridiculous Farm Life

If you love animals and country views, join the alpacas while enjoying a unique picnic experience. Picnic packages come with locally sourced cheeses and snacks in addition to the delicious award-winning Udderly Ridiculous ice cream. There’s an option to upgrade to a deluxe version of the picnic package that includes aged cheese and additional items. Consider adding other farm experiences to your visit, including alpaca walks, goat yoga and even goat cuddles.

Don’t forget to bring a hat, sunscreen and outdoor shoes while you enjoy your outdoor picnic. Please note that the picnic experience is not suitable for children under 16.

When: Alpaca picnics are available from May to October on most days except Monday and Tuesday. Find real-time availability and book your visit online. If the experience is cancelled due to weather, you’ll receive a credit for a future booking.

Purple Haven Lavender Farm offers a variety of curated picnic experiences set amid fragrant lavender, from stylish luxury picnics to romantic Al fresco dining. You’ll feel right at home with pillows, blankets, a table, and an array of artisan cheeses. Kids and the young at heart can enjoy Teddy Bear Picnics, a whimsical high-tea-styled picnic lunch inspired by the popular children’s song.

The Little Things Luxury Picnics & Sleepovers

Celebrate any occasion with a stylish picnic. Choose from a variety of themes, packages and locations, customized to suit your picnic preference.

Various upgrades are available to elevate your picnic packages, such as renting a cabana or umbrella for shade, custom flowers for added decoration and projectors and a screen for a movie-themed experience. Additional food options for purchase include lunch boxes, fruit platters or custom cakes.

They do more than just daytime picnics. Plan an extra special overnight sleepover experience for your little one. Choose from a variety of themes and add custom cupcakes, cookies, candies and a charcuterie just for kids. Glamping packages are also available.

When: Complete the online contact form to book your picnic. Bookings are available year-round and last 2.5 hours. Sleepover and glamping experiences are longer. Keep an indoor location in mind in case it rains, rescheduling is also a possibility.

Where: Choose a location, including your backyard, inside your home or your favourite spot. The delivery fee is based on the distance from Orillia to the picnic location
