Northeastern Ontario

Big Moose Camp

Just 25 minutes from North Bay, this four-season resort on Lake Nosbonsing has 14 cottages and two trailers that are either lakefront or have lake views. The cottages have one to three bedrooms and are fully equipped with heat, satellite TV, a full kitchen and three-piece baths. 

Bring your own boat or rent a boat and motor to fish for walleye, bass, northern perch and even the elusive muskie. Kayaks, pedal boats, stand-up paddling (SUP) and canoe rentals are also available.

Camp Conewango

About half an hour drive east of North Bay on Lake Talon's north shore, Camp Conewango is located in Mattawa River Provincial Park and on the Voyageur Multi-Use Trail System, which offers 300 kilometres (185 miles) of ATV, hiking and biking trails. 

Rent a boat and fish for walleye, northern, muskie, bass and lake trout or follow the trails to remote lakes where you can fish for speckled trout and perch. Cook meals in your fully equipped cottage or check out what's on the menu at the on-site restaurant for a treat.

Fishtale Cabins & Campground

Fishtale is located on the Wolseley River, which flows into Wolseley Bay of the famous French River. The six log cabins on the property include one- to four-bedroom suites with four-piece bathrooms (bring your own towels) plus a barbecue, picnic table and fire pit. There's even a full-size inground pool on the property. Fishing is excellent in this location for walleye, muskie, northern bass and more.

Mowat Landing Cottages

These lakeside cottage rentals feature one-to-three-bedroom suites, a wood stove and a three-piece or five-piece bathroom with a full kitchen. The suites are fully solar and include access to wi-fi and Bell Express View. Supplies are available less than 30 minutes away from the property in New Liskeard.

In addition to fishing boat, canoe and kayak rentals, bocce, horseshoes and safe walking and hiking trails are available. Enjoy 68 kilometres (42 miles) of river fishing on the Montreal River and 450 kilometres (280 miles) of shoreline on the famous Lake Evelyn Smooth Water System.

From a cottage that sleeps up to 27 people to a cozy housekeeping cottage for four and traditional motel units, this fishing camp near the Upper Ottawa River will accommodate almost any size group. 

Bring your boat or rent a boat or pontoon. Cook your own meals or choose from a package with meals included. Open year-round, it’s a great base camp for snowmobile and ATV adventures as well.

Temagami Shores Inn and Resort

Surrounded by crown land, Temagami is well known for outdoor adventure activities like back-country hiking, camping and fishing. Como Lake Resort

Como Lake Resort is on a 4,000-acre off-grid property on the shores of Como Lake, near the boundary of Champleau Crown Game Preserve, the world’s largest wild game preserve. Guided fishing services are available for fishing in Como Lake and neighbouring lakes. Trout, whitefish, northern pike, smallmouth bass and walleye are popular fish species in this area.

Snowshoe Camp Resort

Snowshoe Camp Resort is about 45 minutes from the town of Thessalon just off Highway 129. The camp is located on Wakomata Lake, which is known for excellent bass, lake trout, northern pike and whitefish fishing. All cabins have a full-size kitchen equipped with appliances and dishware, as well as a barbecue, laundry facilities and free use of canoes, kayaks and paddleboats. Boat rentals are also available.

Brennan Harbour Resort

Located close to the town of Spanish, this lodge will give you access to some of the best fishing in Ontario for walleye, northern pike, smallmouth bass and jumbo perch. All resort cabins have hot water and electricity and a kitchen with a microwave, toaster and coffee maker.

Each of the six Birch Lake Resort cottages has a master bedroom, a second bedroom with double bunk beds, a kitchen equipped with fridge, stove, coffee pot, dishes, utensils and dining table and a three-piece bathroom. Located, of course, on Dog Lake, this resort is not far from Thunder Bay and offers nine cabins of various sizes, 100 RV and trailer sites and even houseboats. Ole’s Adventure Resort

Clarke and Crombie

Located on beautiful Lake of the Woods, this property has been operating since 1937. With an 18-unit motel, six housekeeping cottages and 30 full hookup RV sites, anglers and hunters have been coming back year after year. 

Cook in your own cabin or walk to the restaurants in Nestor Falls. Lake of the Woods is well known for epic walleye, crappies, perch, northern, Muskies and bass fishing and Clarke’s offers knowledgeable guides that will get you on fish fast.

Bonny Bay Camp

Wabigoon Lake is home to walleye, muskie, northern, crappie, smallmouth and perch and over 160 kilometres (100 miles) of shoreline. The cabins at Bonny Bay Camp are heated and air-conditioned, with three-piece baths, two beds per bedroom and a full kitchen.

Boat and motor rentals are also available. The main lodge is a gathering place for guests with satellite TV, board games, pool table, air hockey and foosball. Outdoor fun includes a sandy beach, volleyball and badminton facilities, a playground and horseshoes.

Lac Seul Fisherman’s Cove                                           

Comfortable cottages, boat and motor rentals, great hiking opportunities, wildlife viewing and unbeatable shore lunches bring guests back each year. Lac Seul is famous for its hundreds of kilometres of shoreline and a wealth of walleye and northern just waiting for you. Head out to South Bay, McKenzie Bay, Manitoba Point, William Bay or stay on Scot Bay, where the lodge is excellent for fishing.

Labelle’s Birch Point Camp

Located about 45 minutes from Rainy River and the International Falls borders in either direction, this 12-cottage resort is nestled among beautiful birch trees and offers fully equipped guest cabins. The main lodge has a convenience store, air-conditioned sitting room, a games room, satellite TV and great views of the lake. Fish for walleye, northern, crappie and bass. Snowmobile and ice fishing is available in winter.

West Point Cove Camp

This peaceful place is located on Pelican Lake with views of the gorgeous Sioux Mountain, great swimming spots, boat and motor rentals on-site, a new fish house and loads of places to have a shore lunch. You’ll have access to Sturgeon River, Pelican, Lac Seul, Abram and Minnitaki and the municipality of Sioux Lookout is only a short distance away. With only two cabins, make sure to book well in advance.
