If you’re heading to one of these popular Ontario Provincial Parks on your next camping adventure, here’s a handy list of the closest places to get those last-minute groceries and supplies.

Northeastern Ontario

Killarney Provincial Park

Pitfield’s General Store is approximately ten minutes drive from Killarney Park, at the end of Highway 637 in the town of Killarney. You’ll find gas, tools and a selection of supplies. Locals say they have “everything”.

Sault Ste. Marie and Algoma

Lake Superior Provincial Park

Highway 17 runs right through this park, so the closest store depends on which end of the park you are in. From the west end, the closest stores will be in Wawa. John’s Valu-mart on Mission Road is only 22 minutes from the park gates.

From the eastern area of the park, the closest store is the camp store at Agawa Crafts and the Canadian Carver, which is approximately a 45-minute drive from Agawa Bay.

Pancake Bay Provincial Park

Just a short walk from the Pancake Bay park entrance, Agawa Crafts is a complex including a camp store with incidentals you may have forgotten.

Northwest Ontario

Quetico Provincial Park

The town of Atikokan is the closest location to stock up on supplies. From Quetico’s main entrance the drive to Foodland Grocery Store is about 30 minutes.

Sleeping Giant Provincial Park

Sleeping Giant is located south of Thunder Bay. The drive from the park gates to Skaf’s Food Basics in Thunder Bay is about 55 minutes.

Algonquin Park, Muskoka and Parry Sound

Algonquin Provincial Park

Highway 60 runs across the lower end of Algonquin Park. From the east gate, Charbonneau's Freshmart is a small grocery store just a few minutes away that carries all the basics.

Located 20 minutes from the West Gate on Highway 60 is Lake of Two River Grocery and Camp Store. While you are there you can enjoy a meal at their restaurant.

Grundy Lake Provincial Park

Grundy Lake Provincial Park is about an hour’s drive north of Parry Sound, just south of French River. However, you don’t need to drive all the way back to town for supplies.

Just 8 minutes from the main park gates is Grundy Lake Supply Post.

Killbear Provincial Park

Outside of the entry to Killbear Park on Highway 559, the Killbear Park Mall is a convenience store stocked with many important items you could run out of. For a full service grocery store, Harry’s No Frills in Parry Sound is a 26 minute drive via Highway 559 East to Highway 400 South.

Oastler Provincial Park

Oastler is about a half-hour drive south of Parry Sound, where you’ll find all the groceries you need at Harry’s No Frills.

Haliburton Highlands to the Ottawa Valley

Bon Echo Provincial Park

Find most of the incidentals you’re looking for at Cloyne’s General Store, located approximately ten minutes from the park. For a wider selection, drive a extra few minutes further to  Foodland Grocery Store – Northbrook.

Kawarthas and Northumberland

Petroglyphs Provincial Park

North of Peterborough on Highway 28, Big Cedar Country Store is the closest spot to stock up on supplies and beverages from  Petroglyphs Provincial Park. It’s about a 22 minute drive away.

Southwestern Ontario

Pinery Provincial Park

Pinery Provincial Park Store and Restaurant is located right inside the park. Find grocery items, convenience supplies and even a small restaurant. Another option is to drive about 14 minutes to Shady Oaks General Store at the intersection of Lakeshore Road and Highway 5.

In addition to these two convenience-type stores, the park is only a 10-minute drive from the Grand Bend Farmers Market which is open on Wednesday mornings.

Southeastern Ontario

Sandbanks Provincial Park

Prince Edward County’s most popular beach is not far from shops and amenities. Currah’s Park Store and Grill is stocked with groceries, camping supplies and even beach toys just a 5 minute drive from the park gates.

The store has two locations; one is across from parking lot #8 at the Outlet Beach Day Use area and the smaller location is right on the Dunes beach.

Hamilton, Halton and Brant

Bronte Creek Provincial Park

With its proximity to Oakville and Burlington, you won’t need to travel far to get those last-minute supplies. Sobeys is a full-service grocery store just 6 short minutes from the park’s camping area.
