Grocers and general stores near Ontario Parks
Here’s a list of the closest places to get those last-minute groceries and supplies at some of the most popular parks.
Note: The parks are in alphabetical order.
Algonquin Provincial Park
Just six minutes from the east gate of the park follow along Highway 60 West to Charbonneau's Freshmart, a small grocery that carries all the basics.
Located 20 minutes from the west gate Highway 60 is Lake of Two River Grocery and Camp Store. While you are there you can enjoy a meal at their restaurant.
Bon Echo Provincial Park
Located ten minutes away from the park, Cloyne’s General Store will carry most of the incidentals you may be looking for. For a for a larger grocery store, head to Foodland – Northbrook, about 16 minutes from the park.
Bronte Creek Provincial Park
You can reach a full service Sobeys grocery store in 6 short minutes from the camping area of the park.
Grundy Lake Provincial Park
Just 8 minutes from the main park gates is Grundy Lake Supply Post.
Killarney Provincial Park
Approximately ten minutes from the park along Highway 637 is Pitfield’s General Store, where you’ll find gas, tools and supplies, locals say they have “everything”!
Killbear Provincial Park
Just outside the entry to the park on Highway 559, the Killbear Park Mall is a convenience store but has many important items you could run out of. If you are looking for a full service grocery store, Harry’s No Frills in Parry Sound is a 26 minute drive via Highway 559 East to Highway 400 S.
Lake Superior Provincial Park
Highway 17 runs right through this park, so the closest store depends on which end of the park you are. If you are in the west end, the closest stores will be in Wawa. John’s Valu-mart on Mission Road is only 22 minutes away from the park gates. If you are in the eastern area of the park, closest to Sault Ste. Marie, your closest store is the camp store at Agawa Crafts and the Canadian Carver about 45 minute ride from Agawa Bay.
Pancake Bay Provincial Park
It is a short walk from the park entrance to Agawa Crafts, a complex including a camp store with incidentals you may have forgotten.
Petroglyphs Provincial Park
Big Cedar Country Store, LCBO and Beer Store Agency is about a 22 minute drive from the park.
Pinery Provincial Park
The Pinery Provincial Park Store and Restaurant is located right inside the park and includes grocery items and convenience supplies. There is even a small restaurant. Or you can drive about 14 minutes to Shady Oaks General Store. In addition to these two convenience type stores, the park is only 9 minutes from the Grand Bend Farmers Market which is open on Wednesday mornings.
Oastler Provincial Park
Parry Sound is just 35 minutes away from this park, where you’ll find all the groceries you need at Harry’s No Frills in Parry Sound.
Quetico Provincial Park
The drive from the main park entrance to the town of Atikokan is about 30 minutes. Head to Foodland Grocery store for all your food supplies.
Sandbanks Provincial Park
Just a 5 minute drive from the park gates is Currah’s Park Store and Grill, stocked with groceries, camping supplies and even beach toys. They actually have two locations; one is across from parking lot #8 at the Outlet Beach Day Use area and the smaller location is right on the Dunes beach.
Sleeping Giant Provincial Park
The drive from Sleeping Giant Park to Skaf’s Food Basics in Thunder Bay is about 55 minutes.
