Known as the Maple Syrup Capital of Ontario, Lanark County is home to some of the oldest and prettiest towns in Canada such as Almonte in Mississippi Mills, Perth and Smith Falls. Just an hour drive from Ottawa makes this area a popular side trip for locals and visitors from the nation’s capital.

Where is Lanark County?

Lanark County is located in eastern Ontario close to Ottawa. The best way to reach and explore the county is by car. Visitors from the country’s capital can reach the county in less than an hour via Highway 417 or Highway 7.

There is occasional bus service from Ottawa’s Tunney's Pasture Bus Station.
