The team’s history goes back into the late 1800s to the Hamilton Football Club and has included several franchises over the years, including the Hamilton Wildcats, the Hamilton Tigers and the Hamilton Alerts.

Regardless of the team's official title, Hamilton has made a name for itself as a home for great Canadian football. Overall, the team has claimed 15 Grey Cup Championship wins, eight of which were won by the current Hamilton Tiger-Cats franchise.

Tim Hortons Field

The Ticats play their home games at Hamilton's Tim Hortons Field, or the “Donut Box,” a multi-use stadium with an audience capacity for upwards of 20,000. It's also home to the Forge FC, one of Canada’s professional soccer clubs.

The venue has been used for the Pan-Am Games, the Rugby World Cup qualifying match, Canadian Women’s National Soccer and many other significant sporting events over the years.

From accessibility services to concession outlets and merchandise shops, get acquainted with the venue’s facilities in advance.

How to get to Tim Hortons Field

Tim Hortons Field is located at 64 Melrose Avenue North in the Stipley neighbourhood, just northeast of King Street East. Get more directions to Tim Hortons Field.

  • HSR shuttle: park at one of the Park-and-Ride lots at Lime Ridge Mall, Eastgate Square or University Plaza and ride the complimentary shuttle for ticketholders

  • car: take the QEW to Hamilton, exit at 90, merge onto Nikola Tesla Boulevard, turn left onto Gage Avenue North, then right onto Cannon Street East; there are several parking lots around the stadium, some of which require payment

Where to buy Hamilton Tiger-Cat tickets

Get your Tiger-Cats tickets, season passes, flex packs and Grey Cup tickets from the Ticats website. You can secure premium seating, like luxury boxes and group tickets.

Tickets are also available at Ticketmaster.

Take advantage of the Tiger-Cats’s flexible digital tickets. Ticketholders can exchange tickets in case you can’t make it to your game day. The stadium even offers a trial period for your season pass seats, so you don’t have to commit to a section you don’t love.

Tips for the best fan experience

The Ticats have one of the catchiest fight songs in all the CFL. Here are the lyrics, so you can join in when the stadium starts chanting:

Oskee wee wee
Oskee wah wah
Holy Mackinaw
Tigers, eat 'em raw!

There are different theories about the origins of the song. Some think it’s an old New Zealand rugby anthem while others believe it’s an acronym for “our success is knowledge, effort, and energy.”

You can form your own conclusions at the Ticats official pre-game, which takes place at the Stipley, Canada’s biggest outdoor bar. Try the incredible Saltlick sandwich before you pick up some Ticats merch at the Tiger-Cats Shop at Tim Hortons Field. Choose from jerseys, signed footballs and even sneakers to show your black-and-gold pride.
