More about Calabogie Peaks Resort
First, a bit about Calabogie Peaks Resort during snowy months. A full instruction program invites first-timers and novice skiers to advance their skills, while seasoned skiers looking for a challenge can tackle the highest ski hill in Ontario. Fun fact: at 238 metres, Calabogie Peaks Resort features the highest vertical drop of all public ski facilities in the province.
At the top of the hill, catch your breath, warm up your hands and take in the view from the Top Hut, a cozy little shelter with a wood stove.
With ski in and ski out access to the slopes and an immersive ski school program, winter definitely heats up at Calabogie, but the summer and fall seasons offer their own delights.
In the warm months, Ironwoods Golf Course is a nine hole course just minutes from the resort, and complementary clubs and pull cart rentals are available for guests to use. Calabogie Peaks private sandy beach beckons for sunbathing and swimming. If you prefer to get out on the water, make use of the free pedal boats, canoes, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards.
Rustle up a game of pickup on the basketball court, challenge your family and friends to beach volleyball or play a few sets on the tennis court. Hike or bike over 30 km of trails, or if you’d like to explore further afield, visit neighbouring communities like Arnprior or Almonte. Discover one-of-a-kind shops, art galleries, gift boutiques and local museums, and whet your whistle at the Calabogie Brewing Co. taproom.
Fall is possibly Ontario’s prettiest season, with leaves transforming into a burst of fiery red and brilliant gold, orange and yellow. Take in the spectacle at Calabogie Peaks with weekend chair-lift rides offered up to the top of the mountain for a sweeping vista of colour. And hike up to Eagle’s Nest Lookout, located just 3 km from the resort. The short and relatively easy 1.5 km trail leads through the woods to an epic panoramic view at the top of a 120 metre cliff.
