Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery

Dancing Swallows Vineyard
Dancing Swallows Vineyard is situated on a century-old farm just southeast of Amherstburg. In the heart of the property, tucked beneath the largest maple tree on the farm, is the tasting garden.
Between May and October, guests are welcomed to a repurposed shipping container to sample craft wines from the Artist’s Series. Sip the afternoon away surrounded by the lovely vineyards and succulent grapes.

Just east of Amherstburg and a short drive from Windsor, Vin Winery is one of the more recent additions to the Windsor-Essex wine scene.

Colio Estate Winery
With over 30 years of experience, Colio Estate Winery played a pivotal role in the renaissance of Lake Erie North Shore’s wine-making industry. After Prohibition, it was one of the first in the region to receive a licence to produce alcohol and has gone on to win over 500 awards both nationally and internationally.
In-depth tours lead you through the process of winemaking, including the grape handling process and to the climate-controlled barrel ageing cellars and bottling area.

Cooper’s Hawk Vineyards
Just east of Harrow, Cooper’s Hawk Estate Winery is named after one of the many bird species frequently spotted on the two hectares of protected natural green space. Viewpointe Estate Winery
With a view that extends from the tasting room and lakefront patio across expansive lawns to the blue waters of Lake Erie, Viewpointe Estate Winery couldn’t be more aptly named.
The family-operated winery showcases a diverse range of fine wines and culinary offerings. Savour the scenic vineyard views from the restaurant’s patio, which is open May to October. Choose from shareable starters, sandwiches and homemade pizzas that pair perfectly with white, red and rosé wines.

North 42 Degrees Estate Winery
Lake Erie North Shore sits along the exact 42nd parallel as wine regions in southern France, Italy and California. Hence the name of this 6.8-hectare vineyard, winery and restaurant.
There’s the option of adding a charcuterie to complement your tutored wine tasting reservation, or opt to dine at Bistro 42, the winey restaurant. Classic European-inspired dishes are crafted to match the selection of North 42 Degrees’ wines. Many of the vegetables and herbs featured on the menu are grown on-site. Additionally, the restaurant uses local meats and cheeses.

Oxley Estate Winery
East of Colchester and south of Harrow, Oxley Estate Winery specializes in small batches of quality, fruit-forward wines grown on over 15 hectares of vineyard.
The estate is home to a restaurant located in a beautifully renovated century-old barn. Guests are welcome to dine indoors or on the wine garden patio. The menu features down-to-earth, locally sourced items, including Lake Erie perch, Oxley Barn Burgers, as well as charcuterie and cheese boards. Pair with a Chardonnay, Pinot Rosé, Pinot Gris, Cabernet Franc or sparkling wines.

Paglione Estate Winery brings the charm of Italy to Ontario’s southernmost coast.

Muscedere Vineyards
Muscedere Vineyards is a five-hectare, family-owned and operated winery that hand-harvests its grapes to produce premium, small-lot wines.
Specializing in reds, including a full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon, each bottle offers a unique expression of the terroir.
From May to October, guests are invited to enjoy wood-fired pizzas paired with award-winning Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Meritage and Pinot Noir on the dog-friendly outdoor patio. Simple and delicious, the pizza menu includes veggie, meat-lover and gluten-free options.
The winery is located alongside the 50-kilometre Chrysler Canada Greenway Trail, so it’s the perfect stop to include on a cycle touring itinerary through Essex County.

Kingsville
As Canada’s southernmost town, Kingsville boasts a mild climate, a rich farming community and a thriving wine and culinary scene.
Pelee Island Winery
With locations in Kingsville and on the island for which it’s named, Pelee Island Winery is Canada’s southernmost winery. Established in 1854, the winery has won hundreds of awards, starting with the Paris World Fair in 1878 for its exceptional and approachable wines.
To visit the Pelee Island location, board the ferry from Leamington or Kingsville, which takes about an hour and a half each way. It’s worth the trip to enjoy tastings at the Winery Pavilion, overlooking a portion of the 283-hectare farmland and vineyards.
The Wine Patio at the Kingsville location is equally as lovely. Enjoy a lively Late Harvest Riesling, a berry-forward Pinot Noir or a medium-bodied Cabernet Franc. Ask about the interactive tour to learn all about the “vine to wine” process.
