Board of Directors
Destination Ontario is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of business leaders who are appointed by Ontario’s Lieutenant Governor in Council based on recommendations from the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming.

Todd Halpern
Todd is self-employed. He serves as a member of the Board of Trustees and Vice-Chair for University Health Network (UHN). In 2008, Todd received the Knight of the Order of Agricultural Merit from the Government of France. In 2020, Todd was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal by the Governor General of Canada in recognition of his philanthropy.

Danielle Chretien
Danielle owns and operates a family-run resort, restaurant and brewery in Prince Edward County. With a background in Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing, she’s worked for Space Imaging and consulted for Michigan’s Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Passionate about community, Danielle has actively lead local fundraising efforts.

Andrew Galloro
Andrew leads crisis communications, corporate messaging and executive media relations. Previously, he worked as a consultant for the communications firm, Navigator, and held roles in the federal and provincial governments. He serves on the communications committee of Wellspring’s Board and is a long-time volunteer at Casey House.

Jesse Hamilton
Jesse has held a number of General Manager roles, including at Deerhurst Resort, as well as a Professor in the Hospitality program at Georgian College. He is also active in the community, serving as Vice-Chair of the Ontario Restaurant Hotel Motel Association.

Cathy Kirkpatrick
Cathy is experienced in tourism marketing, destination and brand development and strategic marketing planning. In 2010, she started CMK Consulting. Clients have included Tourism Kingston, Travel Nunavut, Resorts of Ontario, Cornwall and SDG Counties, the Town of Blue Mountains, and Ottawa Tourism. Cathy is a member of TIAC, TIAO and ITAC.

Sumeeta Kohli
Sumeeta has over 25 years experience in the marketing industry. Sumeeta is the recipient of the 2025 King Charles III’s Coronation Medal for community work and contributions. In addition to Destination Ontario, Sumeeta serves as the Vice-chair on the Peel Police Service Board and is a director on the board of the Mississauga Arts Council.

Dennis Matthews
Dennis leads an advertising agency that helps major leaders, brands and causes shape their stories and influence public opinion. He has advised numerous public and private sector executives. Dennis is also a frequent media commentator who also serves on the Marketing and Communications Committee at Michael Garron Hospital.

Mark Montefiore
Mark leads renowned global comedy entertainment studio, New Metric, recognized for its innovative content and brand-building approach. He is also an award-winning executive producer for television, whose international hits with New Metric include Letterkenny, Shoresy and Children Ruin Everything.

Jerry Pribil
Jerry owns Marienbad Restaurant and Chaucer’s Pub in London, ON. He obtained his MBA at the Universidad Europea in Madrid. Jerry has international executive management experience in hospitality and tourism industry and as a university professor in the United States and Europe, teaching strategic management in hospitality & tourism.

Dr. Jasveen Rattan
Jasveen is a consultant passionate about helping clients build responsible initiatives and sustainable solutions. She has consulted on community projects and presented at conferences around the world. Her educational experience includes a Masters in Tourism Policy and Planning, and a PhD in Recreation and Leisure Studies (University of Waterloo).

Lacey Rigg
Lacey’s community service includes eight years as Auxiliary Sergeant with the Timmins Police Service, a trainer for the Timmins Majors U15 AAA Hockey team and a board member of Camp Bickell. Happily married to Karly and a devoted mom to their daughter, Cora, Lacey is a lifetime resident of Northern Ontario with over 10 years of tourism industry experience.

Rob Taylor
Rob has vast travel and tourism industry experience, as an event operator, advocate, consultant and ministerial advisor. As the former VP, Public Affairs and the interim CEO at the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC), he collaborated with Destination Canada on RendezVous Canada, Tourism Town Halls, GoMedia and TIAC conferences.
