It’s always the right time to explore Ontario and check some must-see sights off your bucket list. We rounded up 5 of our favourite stunning landscapes, which Ontario is famous for.

The Sleeping Giant Thunder Bay, Ontario

With surroundings so peaceful, it is easy to imagine this rock formation is the sleeping body of a giant, arms folded across his chest. There are many hidden treasures surrounding the landmark. On a little island at the foot of the Sleeping Giant, can still be seen the partly submerged shafts of what was once the richest silver mine in the northwest.

Rattlesnake Point Conservation Area, Milton, Ontario

Part of the Niagara Escarpment, Rattlesnake Point boasts some of the most inspiring scenic viewing areas in the province. The conservation area also features three designated sites where experienced rock climbers can scale the challenging cliffs.

Flowerpot Island, Bruce Peninsula, Ontario

A trip to Flowerpot Island is one of the must-try experiences in Fathom Five National Marine Park. The island is famous for its natural “flowerpot” rock pillars, caves, historic lightstation and rare plants. Take a tour boat from the town of Tobermory and spend a day on the island hiking the trails, viewing the scenery and swimming.

Sandbanks Provincial Park, Prince Edward County, Ontario

You’ll feel like you’ve stumbled on a little pocket of paradise at Sandbanks. Giant sand dunes and beaches form two of the largest freshwater baymouth sandbars in the world on the shores of Lake Ontario.

The Sea Lion, Thunder Bay, Ontario

One of the most interesting sights of Thunder Bay’s Silver Islet is the great stone Sea Lion, the perfect subject for the artist and camera enthusiast.
