Guided wilderness paddling with Naturally Superior Adventures

There’s a warm glow in the windows of a cozy cabin perched on the edge of a lake

Witness the majesty of Lake Superior for yourself on a fully guided and outfitted wilderness paddling and back country camping adventure.

Follow in the footsteps of the Group of Seven and Glenn Gould

The Group of Seven, Canada’s greatest art collective as well as renowned music composer, Glenn Gould, found inspiration in the beauty and power of the legendary Lake Superior and surrounding wilderness.

Similarly, adventurers and artists alike still gravitate to the area today, for unparalleled freshwater fishing, epic motorcycle routes filled with twists and turns with breathtaking views, and of course superior paddling experiences.

Lake Superior is a paddling mecca

For passionate canoers and kayakers, Naturally Superior Adventures is the best outfitting and guiding company to help you experience the magic of paddling on Lake Superior and its surrounding waterways.

Naturally Superior staff will coordinate all your needs with catered meals, fully outfitted gear including tents, canoes or kayaks, first aid, safety equipment and communication devices, as well as transportation to and from the starting and finish locations. They’ll even arrange return transport from airports in Sault Ste. Marie or Thunder Bay. All you need to pack is your personal items, clothing, camera and your sleeping mat and bag, although those can be rented as well.

Naturally Superior Adventures has been outfitting paddlers since 1994 and sharing their love of this beautiful area with visitors from around the globe. Programs at Naturally Superior include guided sea kayak trips on Lake Superior and guided canoe trips on inland rivers. They also host workshops, paddling certification programs, corporate vacations and even weddings.

The five day paddling, five night camping and half day kayak instruction is the perfect introduction package to experience Lake Superior.

You will camp on beautiful wilderness beaches and visit significant Ojibwa cultural sites including the world renowned Agawa Pictographs, Devil’s Warehouse Island and Nanabush Rock. Previous kayaking and back country camping experience are required – even though the trip is fully outfitted, it’s a strenuous adventure.

Hint: If you want to arrive early or stay a day longer, Naturally Superior Adventures operates a Bed and Breakfast, called Rock Island Lodge located on the shores of Superior. It’s the perfect opportunity to prepare for your voyage or relax upon your return and reflect on the experience and the magical place called Wawa. A place that is so much more than its roadside Goose attraction. Which is actually pretty cool, so don’t forget to get a pic of that too.
